- Biography
The duo twocolors is full of contrasts, just like their city of Berlin, where the two musicians met in 2015 and immediately began to release music via their own, independent imprint, before signing to Virgin Records Germany/UMG in 2020.
twocolors are Pierro and Emil, both musicians (piano, guitar) were both born and raised in Berlin. “We live in the stronghold of electronic music. It is part of our DNA. The clubs, the different styles, the people -all of that inspires us. But at the same time, it is also simply the place where we are at home and can develop freely. Everything that people in the world think of Berlin, about the whole scene, that’s the way it is. But for us it’s just the place we call home.”
Their next release is a bit of a different venture-the ‘TC/TC Edition 001 EP’, released on November 12, 2021. After a string of more mainstream-leaning releases, this is bringing out the other side of twocolors.
In their own words: “Our ‘TC/TC Edition 001 EP’ shows the other side of our musical DNA. The darker, more clubby side, the deeper, grittier side of twocolors. A homage to our Berlin roots, but taking it into the future at the same time. This is very exciting for us as we are also getting people ready for what to expect when they see us perform live!”
